Give Back Days
The University’s Give Back Day scheme enables any member of staff to have two days paid leave a year to provide the community or a charity with their time and support.
Give Back Days allow for employees to use a working day to provide their time to the local community, whether it be as an individual or as part of a team.
The University has a bank of 150 days per year to which an employee can apply for up to 2 per 12 month rolling period.
Examples of how Give Back Days can be used:
- Duke of Edinburgh leader
- Scout / Brownie leader
- Volunteering at a local kitchen for the homeless
- Participating in arranged activities at Riseholme, such as bulb planting or lambing
- Volunteering at an animal shelter
If you already know what volunteering you would like to do you just need to let us know first so we can do the appropriate checks, email staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk
Once the opportunity has been approved as suitable for a Give Back Day, follow this process:
- Apply for the date via MyView using “Paid Leave of Absence” – “Give Back Day”
- Use the comments to explain what you will be doing on the day
- This will go to your manager for approval
- If that date is not possible please discuss with your manager a suitable date
Enjoy your Give Back Day!
