Social Sports and Activities

Social Sports and Activities

Across the University there are a wide variety of clubs and activities available to colleagues, free of charge, with a focus on benefiting your mental health and wellbeing.

Being active is a natural mood booster and one of the best things we can do for our mental health and wellbeing.  Our bodies release feel-good hormones when we’re active that can also reduce anxiety and stress and help us sleep better.

We currently have the following activities available to colleagues:

Monday

Online Yoga
12.15 – 13.00
Online yoga takes place every Monday and is a great way to take some time away from your desk to move the body, stretch and release tension and clear and steady the mind.  No booking required, please email staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk for the Zoom link and password.

Social Badminton

Book Club

The UoL Book Club meet once a month and alternate between Lawress Hall campus  and the Brayford Campus.

It isn’t your typical Book Club where everyone is reading and discussing the same book, but more of an opportunity for our members to have an informal meet up to discuss books we have read, books we want to read, books we want to recommend to others and exchange books with each other.

If you wish to be added to the Book Club teams channel, please email:
Kitchen Garden
Providing space at the Brayford Campus for students and colleagues to grow their own food, the Kitchen Garden can be found behind Witham House (where the Chaplaincy resides). It was established in 2017, alongside a small number of heritage variety apple trees that were planted in open spaces around the Student Village. A water butt to collect rainwater was installed around the back of the Witham House building to help with the watering of the garden.  All volunteers, colleagues and students, to partake in the upkeep of the Kitchen Garden.  We usually meet regularly on Wednesdays between 1-2pm and if you would like to join us please email us at: environment@lincoln.ac.uk
