EU Settlement Scheme
Colleagues may be aware that we are currently in the ‘grace period’ following the UK’s departure from the EU. During which time if you are an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen, resident in the UK by 31 December 2020, you and your family members (including non-EU citizens) can still apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue to live, work and study in the UK beyond 30 June 2021, if you have not already done so. Even if you have lived in the UK for many years or you have a permanent residence document, you still need to apply. However, you do not need to apply if you have indefinite leave to remain or enter, or you are an Irish citizen, but you can do so if you wish.

Please Note: there is currently an emerging theme across the sector that colleagues who remain outside of the UK due to the Pandemic may impact their ‘continuous qualifying period of residence’ for applications in respect of settled/pre-settled status or to transfer from pre-settled to settled status. The Points Based Immigration System – Recruiting Manager Guidance
Recruiting manager guidance has been circulated to areas to provide further detail on the Points Based Immigration system following Brexit and line manager responsibilities during the staff recruitment process. The government continue to work through the detail of the revised immigration policy and the HR department will provide further updates as the immigration system evolves.
