Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) 

The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) fees increase will take effect from 6 February 2024, following Parliament’s approval of the Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2024 on 16 January. 

The IHS is mandatory for visa applicants and is payable alongside the application fee. It is charged per year of permission requested and payable upfront. Payment of the IHS enables applicants to gain access to the NHS throughout the duration of their visa. 

The University continue to offer an interest free visa loan scheme to support colleagues Visa Loan Scheme – People, Performance and Culture (lincoln.ac.uk).
